Two Fury Friends

"He does not ignore those who cry to him for help." Psalm 9: 12 NLT

There are times in my life that I chose to ignore the obvious. It could be a phone call from a frustrating friend or a wrap on my front door. It won’t matter what or who disturbs my tranquility. My peace was more important then answering others needs until two fury friends entered our house.

These two little friends couldn’t be ignored. Patches and Tiger, two male tabby kittens, needed feeding, watering, and house training. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night, they cried for my assistance. I often ignored their cries. I choose to ignore the obvious. So, Patches and Tiger decided to train me. It took a wet nose in my face at four a.m. or nipping at my exposed fingers or toes often get my attention. If that didn’t work, the echoing sound of an over turned foot dish snapped me back to the obvious - feeding time at the ranch. It was feed me and feed me now.

Patches and Tiger taught me a truth about my ignorant actions. My inaction affects others. Unlike Patches and Tiger’s antics to get my attention, Jesus Christ chooses to listen when I cry for help. At the cross, the heart of Christ’s heart was tuned. Now, I’m tuned to Patches and Tigers cries for help.
